Acquire uses DD plugin for Travel TV Network
03 June 2003 10:39

Working Solutions’ award winning Acquire solution is the software engine behind the 600 site network of digital signage screens, available through the Travel Agent TV service. Working with Gold Medal Travel, the TV channel is available to any travel agent in the UK, and provides a fully managed display of holiday destination videos, latest offers and promotions and more. Stored on the player units, content can be shown in a playlist specified by Travel TV.Travel agents can also enjoy content control, using a small remote control to either swap to a different pre-determined playlist or travel channel, or change videos and pages according to a customer’s requirements. A great alternative to a page in a travel brochure, travel agents can now, using a simple web browser, connect to a membership website where they can also create their own playlist with a mix of messaging and destination footage chosen from the Delivering Digital managed media servers. To manage the compliance for the system sponsor, the Delivering Digital plugin is used to force a pre-agreed amount of sponsor content into each playlist.

Acquire Digital Signage powers Carrefour roll out
03 June 2003 10:39

Acquire Digital Multimedia was behind the roll out for a digital signage network for French retailer, Carrefour. Powered by Acquire in partnership with the company’s Greek reseller i-Contact, the deployment for Carrefour Athens has been successfully expanded from nine stores to 14 stores, and 180 screens to 300 screens since 2007, and has delivered more than 80 different messages to around 2,000,000 customers per month so far. The roll out is expected to reach a total of 21 stores by the end of 2009, with 450 screens. Acquire is used to control play out in Carrefour supermarkets across Greece and the Greek islands, and each site contains a series of ‘zones’ to ensure that the appropriate content is showing in the appropriate store departments. The network is continuing to expand as i-Contact develop plans for new facilities, including coupon kiosks, special events and more. Enhanced customer journey at London Luton Airport
03 June 2003 10:39

Luton Airport’s marketing people were looking to improve on the interactive kiosks in the departure terminal by installing some large format Protouch kiosks ‘air-side’. The aim of the kiosks was to provide useful passenger information but also to gauge passenger feedback. In addition, the kiosks were required to try to ‘drive’ business to the retail outlets by offering high quality printed discount coupons.Instead of a providing a conventional printer with all of the associated maintenance issues, Acquire Digital developed an innovative Bluetooth plug-in for Acquire KD and installed it on three new, large format multimedia information kiosks at London Luton Airport. The 40-inch LCD kiosks have been installed ‘air-side’ at the terminal. Powered by award winning Acquire KD (Kiosk Designer) software utilising the new Acquire Bluetooth application, the kiosks provide multifunctional assistance for airport customers. Amongst its functions, the kiosk now offers customers the opportunity to give their opinion on the standard of airport facilities by using the touch-screen feedback form. Furthermore, customers are able to download offers from the terminal’s retail outlets such as Dixons, Boots, Monsoon and WH Smith via the new Acquire Bluetooth application. The 3D airport map and Destinations maps, which can be seen at http://www.london-luton.co.uk , were also repurposed for kiosk use. Written by Acquire Digital’s in-house programming team, the Bluetooth application works in conjunction with the Acquire software platform for maximum efficiency. Using a Bluetooth transceiver device connected to the kiosk PC, the software searches for Bluetooth activated devices, usually mobile phones, within a predetermined radius. When the kiosk promotion is touched by the user, the transceiver ‘Bluecasts’ an image of the special offer. If the mobile phone user chooses to accept the offer their phone downloads the image. This image can then no longer be downloaded to the same phone unless the phone leaves the area for a predetermined length of time.Any user who refuses the image will not be sent that image again, so users are not bombarded with Bluetooth offers that they do not want. And for those newer mobile phones that have a default security function that asks for a 4-digit pairing code to be entered before the image is accepted, the kiosk provides this information as an on-screen instruction.

Acquire flys the flag for LG and Harrods
03 June 2003 10:39

Acquire Digital was commissioned to provide a cutting edge solution to take centre stage at a new flagship LG store within Harrods of London. Working with Microlok systems, the company helped to create an interactive multimedia experience to demonstrate products, and excite and inspire customers. LG technology, including the very latest mobile phones, high definition televisions, and screens were built into the shop fit by Microlok, before being brought to life on the display by Acquire Digital’ award winning Acquire Digital Signage software.Working to very tight deadlines, Acquire Digital collated and produced the content for the screens, including producing an interactive catalogue with live price updates, and a show stopping large format screen display. The innovative display features a control pod that allows the customer to choose from a selection of large LCD and plasma screens that drop out of the ceiling on motorised lifts and begin to play the customer’s choice of content. Showcasing the products to their best, customers can see the quality of the screens first hand, whilst the pod changes to show the features and benefits. Live support and alerts are managed using Working Solutions’ KioskMonitor service.
